I'll I'll stay until the very last question is answered, but I know that some people have to get going, so we're going to try to keep this close to an hour and a half as possible.

All set!
Alright, looks like everyone got everyone already. Got a good number already on so we're going to go ahead and get started. So this is just a little slide. If you have any questions or anything like that, but we are going to this web and art is is going to talk about our accelerated nursing program so the plan for today as web and R is that we're going to talk about the accelerated nursing program. The different options that are available. We're going to talk about how to complete your graduate special graduate program. Be to become a nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, how that'll work.
We're going to go over the application requirements as well as how to have a competitive application and then a little bit on some of the academic opportunities as well as the resources on campus and will talk a little bit about some of the clinical placements in terms of how it works for the BSN and MSN.
As well as the PhD, even there's no clinical support, and then we're definitely going to Q&A, so we're gonna wait till the end of the presentation. And then you guys can start asking your questions if you want to feel free to ask as you were going, that's fine, but we may have answered that question at some point so but feel free if you want to put in a quick question as we're going through if something pops into your head and you don't forget about it. But at the end of the presentation will open it up to Q&A. We are going to use the chat system just 'cause we have a big group of people. Usually if it's a little bit smaller, will like.
Turn the cameras on and everything, but it's a little bit more difficult, so we're going to use the chat system, but your question I'll read it and then will reply. OK, so let's get started.
With the program. OK, so this is this presentation is for our accelerated nursing program, which is designed for students who already have or will have a bachelors degree in another field and are looking to go into nursing an we have three options for students to choose from. You can choose from RBS and 2nd degree program which is for students who know they want to go into nursing but they might not be positive of.
Oleg Gordiienko

What advanced specialty they might want to go into in the future? Maybe you know you want to go into nursing, but you're really passionate about feeds and the elderly and Women's Health and inpatient and outpatient in ICU and Health Promotion. Public Health? You kind of love it all. The BSN will give you that opportunity to kind of keep exploring and keep getting these experiences. This so that you can kind of narrow it down. That's the first option and then those who come into the second degree program can always apply to the Masters or the PhD while they're finishing their BSN.
So coming in second degree doesn't mean you cannot continue on to the graduate programs. The second option is our BSN MSN, which is for students who definitely know they want to go into the field as an advanced practice nurse. Their goal is to eventually become a nurse practitioner and nurse midwife or possibly go into administration an we have graduate specialties that you can apply to at the time of application so you apply both to the BSN component which is for the RN license and then the MSN component which is for the certification for nurse practitioner midwifery.
Diana Da Silva
12:04:42 PM
So happy to be here! Hello everyone!
To be a midwife etc. And that is, you know, a lot of times students are like well, should I apply BSN, MSN? I think this is the specialty when I go into our recommendation is always if you're about 80% sure of population of setting environment.
And population setting environment. Then you should definitely go ahead and apply BSN MSN because at Penn we don't lock you into your specialty. You can always request it's a request and I guarantee request to change your specialty and move move programs. But you know at the time of application you want to be as knowledgeable of the specialty replying to that your goals or makes sense for that specialty that you're you know have a good understanding of the role but you can apply BSN, MSN to any one of our.
We have 12 graduate specialties that you can choose from.
And then R Hillman, BSN to pH D is actually for those who are interested in research in academia and they went in. They they they know this is where they want their career to be. This their passionate about research and they're going to do it straight from the BSN so this program is for someone who's interested in the PhD and is also not planning to immediately attain under practitioner or nurse midwifery certification. OK, 'cause this is you go from the BS and use it for the end. Clicks become a registered nurse.
Abigail Schubiger
12:05:54 PM
]
Any immediately start the PhD program, so this the Hillman program is actually a scholarship scholars program, and there's a scholarship attached to it, so it's about $80,000 towards your education, about 30 or so. 30,000 or so will go towards your BSN education and then the rest will go towards your PhD at Penn. The PhD is fully funded for the first three years with a living stipend which is usually tide to NRA position, ortie position and then we also have.
The 4th year. Tuition and fees are covered but not.

Much needed info!
Daniella Asafu-Adjaye
12:06:41 PM
I submitted all documents for my portion of the application last Friday, September 18. However, two of my recommenders have yet to submit their letters. The portal now says that "all missing materials, including letters of recommendation, must be received by September 25, 2020. If you submitted your application at least one week before the deadline, your materials are due by the deadline."
Therefore, is September 25, 2020 an automated date based on when I submitted my application, yet my recommenders truly have until October 15, 2020, to submit their letters?
A living stipend. OK, so that's kind of how the funding works for the PhD and then hopefully by the 4th year if you need that 4th year and most of our humans don't need that extra 4th year. But if you need that 4th year, you're writing grants already, you're getting funding. You're getting some funding for your research based on what your researches.
Let's see here next. OK, so our program. So deadline is October 15th. It is coming up and we're going to talk about the application and all of its requirements. But our current start date is. Scott is set for June. We usually start the second Monday of June this year it's June 8th. It's pretty early, it's usually around like the 11th to the 13th, so that could change an with kovid there's been talks, you know, 'cause students have Tameka Clinicals and things like that, that there might be a shift in the start date, but.
As of right now, it won't be any earlier, but it'll be the second Monday of June and the BSN portion is 18 months. So those three options that I mentioned earlier, it doesn't matter which option you choose, you all do the BSN program together as one cohort, so there's 85 to 90 accelerated students in a cohort.
Half of you will be second degree, the other half will be BSN, MSN, PhD and you all finish the BSN program together. Who all graduate with your BSN in December of 2022? OK, so it's 18 months for the BSN component. It's a second bachelors so you'll get a second bachelors. You'll be eligible to sit for the ancl X exam and become a registered nurse usually in the month of January and February and then it's completely up to you whether you go into the workforce whether you go into the Masters program, whether you decide to do the PhD, whether you do both, maybe you work.
Full time is in our end and start taking classes part time to kind of get through that the Masters program.
OK, so lots of options there now. The length of the MSN. For those of you who apply BSN, MSN, the length of the MSN is dependent on the specialty you choose. But all of our specialties are between 12 and 18 months, so the nurse practitioner programs are all between 12 and 16 months. Nurse midwifery's 18 and our administration program is 18 and I believe leadership is 12, so it's pretty quick. It's full time that's the full time length, but most of our programs, with the exception of nourishment, we're going to talk about it a little bit later.
Can be done on a part time basis. So you could start your FNP program part time, maybe for a year, year and a half, and then move on to the clinical sequencing, and you can do the programs part time anywhere from two to three years. You know, it depends on when you start part time, how many classes your taking per term when you officially started clinicals, how long the program will actually take you, and I apologize if I get really close to the camera, but I can't see I need new glasses.
And I ordered them and they're not working. And yeah, so this is just a little bit just kind of give you a snapshot of our enrollment goals. Like I mentioned, we usually admit around 3rd between 30 and 35% of the pool that can fluctuate. Some years it's closer to 35 some years it's below 30. It really depends on the number of applications. Forget how many spots we have that year, and you know how many we can admit. So that can change, but the last few years we've been around that 30% mark in terms of our acceptance rate.

Would you be able to email this powerpoint at the end for reference?
Then our national wear a national program so students come to us from all over the country. Over 17 states are represented. Sometimes you have international students. The age range is 21 to 50 + 60 plus most of her students are between the ages of 24 and 26. That's where the majority of our students fall into. But everyone comes with different background.
Sarah Morsi
12:10:06 PM
Are there scholarship opportunities for people who apply to the second degree ABSN program?
This is different interests, different goals related to why they're choosing nursing, why they're choosing pan, what they hope to accomplish when they get here, and that's what makes the program so dynamic. Is the diversity of ideas, and the students that are coming in in your cohort really add to the experience that you're having with in the program.
Alright, so this is the timeline just to quickly go over it. Deadline is in a few weeks. We hope to go to admissions committee in the month of January. An notification is early February. We do one live notification. We notify everyone at the same time and we usually give students about four to six weeks to let us know if there coming and within that time frame we figure out your plan of study. We figure out your financial aid. You'll have all the information you need to make the best decision for you. Then the program will start in.
So I know it feels like a really long time from now, but I promise you it will go so fast.
At least it goes fast in the admissions office. OK, so prerequisite courses, so these are prerequisite courses. Now you can apply to the program while you're still completing the prerequisite courses. OK, so if you still have three or four left to do, you're doing to this fall and the other two in the spring perfectly fine. Just make sure that you complete all the prereqs by the start of the program, so we've put may 31st, 2021 as this is the kind of the date that most classes should be completed. Is it a huge deal? If it's June 3rd, No.
His classes are scheduled to start around June 8th, but.
We want to make sure everything is complete. You really don't have time over the summer like you really don't have time over the summer to do anything else but this program. So it's really important that all those prereqs are in. You have to have them in so you can officially start the program.
All of our course, all the prereqs can be completed online. Just make sure there's a virtual lab if requires a lab and also make sure that the institution you choose is an accredited college or University. OK, there are a few exceptions out there that we where we don't accept their credits. Straighterline are straight liner trader. Liner is one of them. I mean that can change in the future, but as of right now, that's kind of where we are and just kind of keep that in the back of your mind. But you can take them anywhere at a local Community College at a four year institution.
Ali Legg
12:12:26 PM
If I have not taken Intro to Biology yet do I need to explain in my application my plan to take it in the spring?
On line and online only institution you know we're very flexible when it comes to that. 'cause we know. And of course with kovid we know that a lot of these classes, even if you are at the local Community College or at your four year institution, you might be taking them online and it's perfectly fine. Just do as well as you can in them. These are the prerequisite courses in anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and chemistry do require a lap, so please make sure you have a lab. If your course didn't have a lab, go online and see if you can find a lab only course. If you're having any troubles.
Oleg Gordiienko
12:12:55 PM
What is the cost of the prerequisite Courses?
Sophia Sproul
12:12:59 PM
Do you accept prerequisite courses taken through Portage Learning?
Email me, I can see if there's anything that I can find to help you out. Biology does not require a lab and for biology we will accept entered a bio principles of bio cell bio, molecular genetic, molecular, bio, genetics, any sort of biology course you can do as well and I know that there's an online program that a lot of students are taking prerequisite courses at, which is Portage learning. I just saw that there's a check question so we do accept credits from Portage learning because they're actually through Geneva College.
Which is an accredited college University out of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh area. I don't know if it's actually at Pittsburgh.
Conor Flaherty
12:13:28 PM
If a prerequisite (anatomy and physiology) is listed on official transcript as a 3 credit hour lecture and 1 credit hour lab, how should we record that lab section in the coursework section of the application?
And we also require enteral nutrition and introduce stats what's really important about the pre recs is we need introductory courses. Anatomy and Physiology has to be human based and we will go up to 10 years for most of the pre recs with the exception of Anatomy and Physiology we really prefer that amp is within the last five to six years so that's really what we're looking for. If you have any concerns. If you're kind of borderline, just email me and go through it. We can evaluate usually if your courses are older than that, we might.
Colleen Packard
12:14:22 PM
For prerequisite courses taken this semester, are we able to send in those grades at the end of December for consideration in our application?
Ask you to just take one of the two classes so something's more recent and it's for your benefit. When you start the program, you're immediately in a pathophysiology pharmacology course. You do not have time to go back and remember where everything is and how everything is supposed to work, so you really need that foundation and you need it to be more recent so that it it's an easier transition into the program. So those are the prerequisite courses you must have a grade of C or higher, please. If you have a C minus, you cannot transfer in the class, so please make sure that you at least get a C or higher, and all of these classes.
Obviously you want to aim for low higher than that, especially if it's recent also, for those of you, you know who took chemistry or biology freshman year and it didn't go well and you have a C. Please know that we.
Or looking at your most recent courses were looking at your progression so that one class that one grade is not going to completely eliminate you from the admissions process here on time.
So application requirements, so this is good news. Everything is submitted online. There's very little that you have to like physically Mail to us, so we require the actual application. There is a personal statement essay however you want to call it. It's really just about it's the YY nursing my pen. What are your goals?
No, what do you hope to accomplish when you come to Penn? Why do you want to come to Penn? So that's kind of the main essay that you have to write 2 recommendations.
This is really important and I know that every school has different requirements and know alot of schools require three. Please note you can submit more than two 2 or is the required number, but you can submit three. You can submit for and sometimes it makes a lot of sense to do that based on the people that you're asking. But I will say of the two recommendations that are required. I would strongly recommend an academic recommendation or a supervisor recommendation. I think they hold the most weight. I think when they're really strong and they're coming from those two types of.
Recommenders, it's just it helps your application to be a little bit more competitive. Now if you been out of college for 10 years and you've been working for 10 years, obviously supervisor Rex are fine and you can submit two or three of those if you want. If you had different jobs, have different supervisors because you've just spent the last 10 years doing something else. It's perfectly fine if you are taking the prerequisite courses, you create a good relationship with your professor in your faculty. Feel free to send that if you've been volunteering, I personally think that would be a good third recommendation.
Right, if you're a volunteer, maybe the volunteer supervisor. Maybe the health care provider that you're working with and volunteering with, or the health system that you're working or volunteering. What could be a good third recommender? But I would try to lean towards that academic and supervisor rec. Now of course there are always exceptions, so please do not stress if you don't have two academic. If you don't have two supervisor, do what you can, but aim for those if possible. If you are a current student, if you've been.
Currently in college and you're going to graduate within the next year or you've graduated within the last two years or so. I would recommend to academic recommendations just because that's what you've been doing recently. It's going to address your more recent work for the application, so just some things to think about with recommendation. And even though I said all of that, there's a lot of flexibility. We understand everyone's coming into this program from different experiences, you know, large state universities, which may really hard to get, you know, connected to faculty sometimes.
Tess Solomon
12:17:55 PM
Do academic recommendations need to be from an undergraduate degree or can they be from a graduate degree?
You know you may be worked while you're in college. Have a lot of work experience and you'd rather do the supervisor. We understand all of that. So just really think about who knows you very well. You can address your academic abilities, your leadership qualities, your characteristics that would make you a great nurse, nurse practitioner, midwife, etc. OK all college transcripts. So the good news is you can submit unofficial transcript. So if you have a copy from your college, just scan it and upload it if.
You can print it off the website and it includes your name, the University that you attended in all of the courses you've taken in, some sort of order that makes sense for us to review. Feel free to do that as well. It's completely up to you, but unofficial transcripts are what we required for your application to move forward once and if you're admitted, you have to submit your official transcripts at that moment. So if you're admitted into the program you decide to attend Penn, you want to make sure we get all of the transcripts by like.
Diana Da Silva
12:18:36 PM
can we upload multiple transcripts if we took courses from multiple institutions?
Anything that's been previously completed probably by May 1st and then of course you have to may 31st to get us any of the remaining courses from your spring classes.
Madison Campana
12:18:39 PM
what if my unofficial transcripts does not list the schools name?
Ah, OK resume. We're going to talk a little bit more about this in a second, but the first thing I want to say about the resume is that we're not looking for a work resume. Can be 2 pages. It can be 3 pages. Put whatever you want on that resume. You know if you are and volunteer all the time and you're involved in a lot of things, put that on the resume. The resume is a great place to include things that don't make sense anywhere else. OK, so if you've got like really fun, different hobbies, your musician, if you have other interests, put that on your resume.
Vanessa Acosta
12:19:35 PM
Does it make sense to include extracurriculars and involvement at the undergrad level if you are two years out of college?
Because if you're not able to talk about it in other areas of your application, we still want to get to know you. The biggest thing about our missions review at Penn is that we have a holistic approach to the review process. We read every single application. The accelerated group is a very special group, meaning you've got students were straight from undergrad. You've got students have been out for 10 years. Everyone has a different experience, different background. So we look at each applicant individually. So it's a holistic approach to the review. So tell us as much as you can, and sometimes the resumes that perfect spot.
But also don't forget to highlight your health care experience. It's really nice when we're reading an application to kind of just see it all listed there. If you have the healthcare related experience, going to talk about that a little bit more too.
So we'll talk a little bit more about the resume, but just to kind of mentioned it briefly doesn't have to be one page. It doesn't have to be a work resume, so just think about that as you're kind of preparing. The Jerry is required for our BSN, MSN students and our BSN second degree. I'm sorry our BSN, MSN students in our Hillman BSN to pH D students it is required.
Innocent Onwubiko
12:20:24 PM
I have bachelors in nursing and Master of science in Gerontology already- And wants to do my PHD. Which part do you recommend? Do I qualify for the Hillman PHD
They it is definitely required for the Hillman BSN to pH D. There's absolutely no waiver for that, but if you're applying toward BSN MSN option, we do have a jury waiver. If your undergraduate GPA where you completed or will complete your bachelors degree, is it 3.2 or higher, the jury is waived. Waived on the admission site like it's waived after you submit your application. We double check your transcript and we officially waive the Jerry so please just make a note if you have that GPA you don't have to take the Jerry and you can apply to our direct entry BSN, MSN.
If you do have to take the jury.
Tiffany Duck
12:20:58 PM
I have a master's degree with 3.9 GPA will they use that instead
Mai Barry
12:21:14 PM
Good to know!
John Lawson
12:21:15 PM
Can the GRE be waived for ABSN if your undergraduate GPA is above 3.5?
I wish we could get rid of Jerry, but still here if you have to take the Jerry just know it's not a huge component of the application process for the admissions process. We definitely going to look at so many other things prior to the jury. So as long as you're around the 50th percentile, the jury will not become an aspect of your application that can affect your review process in a negative light. If you do really well, that's awesome and wonderful, but just don't put too much pressure on yourself for the jury.
Grace Sells
12:21:17 PM
If you haven’t completed your undergrad degree but you have a 3.2 or higher, do you have to submit GRE?
There is a video interview which I'm going to talk about in a little bit, but it is part of the application. You do have to submit it. You get two tries to submit your video interview and the one thing I will say is just practice before you record the first one, because I think it definitely is helpful. We give you the questions we don't try to blink trick you or anything, it's just another opportunity to get to know you a little bit better to give you an opportunity to express your interest in nursing or your specialty little more.
Akeem Predeoux
12:21:48 PM
Masters degrees additionally waives the GRE, correct?
And then financial aid forms, which we're going to talk about financial aid at the end. Right now the deadlines December 1st. I hope to have an email out to everybody, probably at the end of next week. Just giving you all of the requirements are pretty easy, but you have plenty of time to submit the financial aid paperwork.
Charlotte Landeryou
12:22:02 PM
So just to be sure, if we meet the GPA requirement we don't need to submit the GRE scores at all for the BSN/MSN program?
Alright, tip from completing the application. So the first thing I want to mention is the prerequisite courses. I know that if.
If you're currently still so we changed it a little bit on the application. But if you're currently enrolled in a class or will be enrolled in a class. You know it's it's requiring a GPA which it shouldn't require it. But if it is just put like 0.00 or 9.99 just so that we know the class hasn't ended.
Of when you applied to the program.
That should say if you plan to complete courses in spring of 2021. OK, now I know a lot of people when they take the science courses. The lecture component is separate from the lab component. The information you want to include on the application is the information related to your course lecture course. OK, so the lecture component of the class is what you want to include and then you just want to check off yes for lab and then when we review your transcript and application we will note that it is a separate course. OK, we're going to look for that.
So just something to just remember we want more of the lecture content information. The name of the course, the grades received for that course. When you took that course, and then if the lab was separate, just make it. Make sure you still chekov, yes, because we will double check for you.
So for our Hillman program, students just a reminder. You do have to submit both applications so you are submitting both the PhD application and the BSN application. OK, so just make sure you note that it's two different separate applications for students.
The video interview. So I talked a little bit about this. You can, you know, don't put a lot of pressure on yourself. It's really uncomfortable to stare at the camera and talk to yourself. Even though I know you guys are there, it's still weird to see yourself and you're just talking into thin air, so I understand it's really uncomfortable, but just try to be yourself as much as possible. Try not to read a prepared statement. I think it takes away from the experience. Definitely practice as much as you want to record yourself on your phone.
Get really comfortable doing it, but also just show us who you are. Tell us just about your interest in your goals. You have up to 8 minutes to do it. Another tip is make sure it's not like 2 minutes long. You want to be, as you know, you don't have to go up to 8 minutes, but you definitely don't want to a minute and a half for a video interview. That's can be up to 8 an. Just be yourself and just answer those questions and really talk honestly about your goals in nursing. What you hope to accomplish, how you're going to be involved on campus.
You know your commitment to health health disparities in health care disparities, and how would you get involved? Or what's your goal to be making a difference in that arena? Talk about that. So just something to consider their resume. I talked a little bit about this. There's no page limit. You can submit a CV in place of your resume. Please include all of your experiences, hobbies, places you've traveled, languages you speak, clubs and organizations you've been involved in, both related and not related to health care.
And then of course, healthcare, and we're going to talk about the health care experience in a second, but make sure if you have a good number of healthcare experience, put it on there. Maybe just healthcare related experiences. It could be a job. It could be volunteer. It could be shadowing, informational interviews, personal health care experience. If you're a caretaker if you're taking care of a grandma or a family member who's been sick with cancer, or Alzheimer's or dementia or anything, any chronic health issues that or chronic health issues that they are dealing with in your care.
Take our tell us about that, especially if you're not going to mention it anywhere else.
OK, so those are just some tips and we'll talk a little bit more about the application. So the next thing is, what is the admissions committee looking for so you know, like I mentioned before, we definitely do a holistic approach to the application, but if you kind of want to.

Does the Intro to Nutrition course need to be a developmental psychology course or include nutrition throughout the lifecycle?
Bring it down to like the nuts and bolts. There's kind of two things we look at. There's the quantitative side of your application right? Which is your undergraduate GPA and the reason we look at your undergraduate GPA is because it's the only thing that is standardized across all applicants. You're either completing your bachelors or have already completed your bachelors. Ann, you have a GPA and it's the one thing that everyone is bringing to the table.
We admitted the GP of the admitted class was a 3.5, but I promise you, I promise you every single year we admit students under 3.0 all the time.
And that's because we're looking at the whole picture at the whole application for the student for the applicant. So just make sure that you know that it's definitely on the high end for the GPA. But we do admit across the range for students as well, so that's the quantitative. That's the GPA. In addition to that, we look at your science grades, specifically your prerequisite grades, right? So we don't really do a science GPA because so many students summer science majors.
Colors that are still completing prerequisite courses, so they might only have two classes, so it's not really fair. Data signs to pay for them and not for everybody else. So what we we look at your science grades individually so your prerequisite courses are really important anatomy and Physiology I say or up there there are two classes we will look very closely at. We want to see that you've done well in them especially.
If you've recently completed those courses, OK, so in addition to the prerequisite science courses, we also specifically look at your recent coursework. Whatever it is, whatever classes you took if you've taken them within the last year and a half, there are really important to us. It's an indicator of how you're going to do the program, so I'd say that's the quantitative side of the application. Everyone has, you know, solid science grades or really strong GPA. Everyone has a little bit of both, So what really can differentiate an applicant from?

12:27:59 PM
Do you take graduate GPA into account?
When applicant from another is their exposure to healthcare. Now in a normal year.
We would expect a lot more exposure to healthcare. We would want students that have maybe volunteered or shadowed or been involved in the health care arena.
We we know there's a pandemic right now, and it's crazy. So what? I?
We will. We will take that into consideration. It will be different this year. Obviously there's just so much going on. I know people that have had things set up for six months and then covid hit and they are not allowed in the Hospice centers. They're not allowed to volunteer at the nursing home. They are not able to be part of the healthcare system or clinic, etc. So we completely understand that.
Now, if you did, have something lined up and it didn't, it fell through definitely tell us about it somehow whether it's in your personal statement whether you want to put on your resume. You know set to begin March of 2020 delay due to covid something along those lines so we know that you've been working to try to get these experiences. So we're not going to expect as much exposure as we normally would from an applicant. But we still want you to have a little bit so if you have no exposure whatsoever, you may want to do some informational.
Interviews with nurses or nurse practitioners and put that on your application just that you've taken the time and the steps to to really kind of research the career in the field. Our goal is to have students who want to be nurses an who want to go to to be nurse practitioners and Nurse Midwives. It's kinda healthcare. An really have the passion to do this work. It's hard work. We've seen it, especially during this pandemic hell very very important and vital. They are to everybody in the world and we want students have kind of really taking the time to explore.
Like why is this a good fit for me? Because there's a lot of careers out there that can give you clinical experience and have you work with potential patients. Clinically wise nursing a good fit for you, so don't forget to talk about your exposure to healthcare and the Y piece and the kind of the road that took you to nursing. 'cause That's really what we're looking for for students from applicants. And we also want students were going to give on campus, so something else to think about as well.
OK, so that's just a little bit. Now we're going to jump to our graduate program, so these are all of our graduate specialties. These are all these are all part of our MSN program, so our BSN MSN students can apply to any one of the specialties listed are BSN second degree students can sub matriculate into any one of these programs once they become a student at Penn.
The we have a DMP program as well. We have a post Masters DMP so once you become a nurse practitioner, if you want to attain the DMP degree you can do it on a part time basis on line. It's all remote learning. You have to come to campus maybe 2 or 3 * / 2 year period and you could be working as a nurse practitioner doing this program on a part time basis and getting that DMP. That's future. You know it's like down the road alittle bit but we also have a nurse anesthesia DMP so anyone who's interested in nursing the teacher. Please note you can't apply directly to the anesthesia.
Ashley Tranquille
12:31:03 PM
Are there any specialties that focus in Neurology?
Program at any point in the program can apply now and you can't, say, matriculate into the nurse anesthesia program once you're up. And they've recently changed that. So what you would do is you would come in BSN second degree. You would finish your BSN, take the end clicks, become a registered nurse, and go into an ICU.
Into a critical care setting at the hospital and be there for at least a year.
Technically it's only one year work requirement, but it's really important to note that when you apply, you probably want to have a little bit more than a year under your belt, because when you're invited to interview the interviews that the nurse anesthesia lover are much more technical and much more clinical. So the more information in the more experience you have, the stronger the interview will be. So just something to consider. I know everyone's kind of got like a timeline that they want to stick to, but it might make more sense for students to complete.
You know two years of work experience and then apply to the program so just something to think about. And of course, once you're a student at Penn, you're going to be able to talk to our program, directores. We do information sessions, Brown bag things like that to learn more about all of our specialties so you'll have the opportunity to learn more and what kind of setting should I be in and things like that, but I just wanted to mention 'cause I know a lot of people are interested in nurse anesthesia that you can't technically apply to it at this time.
Now, whether you come in BSN, MSN weather you come in second degree in some matriculate to the Masters program. All of this stuff on this slide. It applies to you, so we all of our programs can be done part time except for nurse midwifery.
Certain programs have work requirements, so if you come in BSN, MSN for Pete's acute care with an oncology concentration, you have to work for at least a year in Peeds oncology that is preferred before you can come back and start the MSN program in pizza ecology. If you are interested in neonatal, it requires two years of RN experience in Nikku Trauma Level 3 before you can start the neque, the neonatal nurse practitioner clinical coursework adult acute care.
Requires one year work experience, so just remember that if you do any sort of acute care, ICU, critical care neonatal oncology, you probably have to work in between the BSN in the MSN. But no, you're spot saved at the Masters level, especially if you've been admitted. And obviously, if you've been admitted it, it's the position at the spot is held for you and you have to just keep lines of communication open with the faculty. You have to let them know. I'm planning to work for two years, even though it's only a one year requirement, and then I'll be back to start my Masters. They slot you in.
And once you're slotted, you can only defer your start date one time OK, and then then you have to reapply. So it's really important that at that point you have an idea of like. I plan to work for two years, you know, Mark me down for fall of 2026 or fall 2020 for whatever year it is OK. Also, all of our students get take up three get to take up to three graduate courses that will count towards their MSN while they're finishing their BSN doesn't save you time in the program, but it definitely saves you money later. 'cause at the Masters level you pay per course.
Conor Flaherty
12:34:22 PM
Can you speak to global health opportunities within the BSN/MSN program?
You can also change your specialty, which I had mentioned earlier and students have up to five years to complete the MSN from the date of their BSN completion. So if you graduate December of 2022 you have till December of 2027 to technically come back and complete your Masters degree, which gives you time to work for three years I had a student who a current student emailed me who wants to do some international work for maybe a year or two, come back and then work in the ICU.
In critical care, a field to get the required experience and then come back and she's going to be able to do it, because like I mentioned before, most of our interpretation of programs are 12 to 16 months full time.
Um and we talked about part time and full time. I will say it really depends where you're working.
How you can complete that program part time, right? So you need a very flexible schedule. You need to be able to create a schedule that works for you based on the clinicals, but our programs can be an are designed to also be completed part time, but there's definitely a lot of kind of juggling and working with your schedule with your employer so that it works seamlessly for you.

12:35:43 PM
Are there any opportunities at Penn for nursing after completing the programs?
This is our sample plan of study for the BSN. It's five terms. It starts in the summer so it's summer fall, spring, summer, fall. We do have breaks. We have a break between each semester of anywhere from one to two weeks and students get currently. Currently, students get about a month off in the second summer, so once community is completed you can have the summer you get about 3 maybe 4 weeks off between the summer and the fall. Though there are you know that can change that can shift there.
They are always looking to do new things and improve stuff, so it's a possibility. But you do get breaks with the program. You do 7 different clinical experiences in the BSN. You'll do OB, Pediatrics, psych, mental health, Med, Surg, Gerontology, Community, Health. Those are all eight to one clinical ratio. Every single clinical includes a lecture component, alab component, Anna clinical component, and those clinicals are.
Between 12 to 16 hours a week. OK, now we the very last semester of your BSN. Our capstone leadership clinical? You get to request where you want to spend your semester. Please note I said request you get to have your first, second and third choice at. They'll do everything they can to place you there. And once you do that last semester clinical it is currently A1. On one experience with your nurse Preceptor and you get to request where you want to spend it and you do. 10 weeks of 24212 hour shifts a week for 24 hours a week currently.
Like I said, things can always change. It used to be 2 eight hour shifts and they moved it to 2:12 so they're looking at a lot of different things and also with the pressure of Kovid things have kind of shifted a little bit, but that's how it currently has been laid out, but it's really nice 'cause you get to choose your request your specialty. So if you're really interested in, you know emergency medicine. You can request to be in the arm, which is a very popular one, so it's hard to get. But if you're going into the neonatal program, maybe you request the neque etc. So you have a lot of opportunities to take advantage of that.
So these are just some of our clinical placements. We have over 200 locations just for the BSN component. We find all of your clinical sites for your BSN end your MSN. We will find your clinical site so just remember that you don't have to find your own. We vet the clinical instructors in our preceptors but this is just a snapshot of some of the sites for the BSN portion. You do not need a car.
You can get to where your going to a public transit and for some reason if one of your clinical sites is not within public transit.
Access you will we create an account with Philly car? Share Zipcar, Green Car and it's an account with pen and then as long as you have a valid drivers license, you can use it and you can get to the sites. So like one of our sites is home health.
Obviously you can take public transit to three different homes to do your clinicals so we work with Philly Crushers and students can do it that way. OK, now we have. These are just some of the opportunities that we talked a little bit about. Some of them we have a state of the art simulation lab there always doing amazing things. They work with the health system and different technologies and they work with them in terms of training. Sometimes they're doing the training, sometimes they're getting the training. There's just there, just wonderful in terms of just kind of pushing the envelope to get as much.
This technology that we can research is a huge component of the University. You don't just have to be interested in the PhD to get involved in research. Many of our students. You can work part time. Maybe after the first summer. Nothing crazy 5 to 8 hours a week would be a good option. You can work part time and our students can definitely get involved in research. Whether it's through the University. The health system. Other departments on campus. If there's something you're passionate about and there's somebody doing that work on Penn's campus.
Reach out to them and just see if there's anything available for you.
Lots of student organizations. Whole list of them online. Most of them are. Most students are working with our within our nursing school, but we also have some interdisciplinary student organizations that involve social work and involve the Med school in dental school and things like that. So there's other opportunities. Also meet people outside of nursing and we have combined program so if anyone is interested in a Masters in public health or bio ethics or law Masters and long not GD.
Or Masters in business administration you can apply to those programs while you're finishing your MSN and combine while you're also enrolled in your MSN and do a combined program. MSN, MPH, NB, etc.
And we talked about some matriculation and this is a streamlined process for our second degree students to apply to any one of those graduate specialties that I mentioned. We also offer some study abroad programs, mostly short-term. Sometime students can create their own independent study depending on what's going on, but we definitely offer some global opportunities for students now with the current pandemic. I don't know if you know, come next fall or spring that we're still going to be able to manage some of those abroad experiences.
We will, but who knows, but just know that they've been around. We have a wonderful global affairs office director Nancy Biller, who works with students who have a really strong interest in global global work.
These are just some of the resources. The one thing I will say and then I think I'm almost done. The one thing I'm sorry I talk too much. The one thing I will say is that what really I think makes pen.
Being append nursing students so wonderful is that you're both append student and a student in the School of Nursing, and you have access to this large, wonderful University that has all of these wonderful resources for students to take advantage of opportunities. Interdisciplinary study. The resources are endless and the opportunities are endless at the University, but the School of Nursing also has its own opportunities and resources as well, but it's also a small school so you get to know your faculty, your cohort, the staff. You really have a community feel. You feel like you're part.
Have a smaller community, but you have the resources of a large University which definitely can make your experience a lot stronger.
I will I'm not going to sugarcoat financial aid.
I like to kind of just set the expectation that it is a loan heavy program. We definitely, definitely offer financial aid. We do both need based grant which is based on financial need merit based scholarship which is based off your application and your admissions review by the faculty and the admission staff and our scholarship committee. You don't have to do anything to get any one of those except you know, submit the fast buffer, the need based and your taxes for the need based and then the nursing Penn Penn Nursing Scholarship is just based off your application. You don't have to submit.
Then we also have our accelerated, so that's our accelerated nursing scholarship, the Hillman scholar which we talked about as well. If anyone is a returning peace core volunteer, Please note that we do have the cover Dell scholarship for our returning peace core students. An once you, Chekov, I'm returning peace core. I volunteered in the peace core on the application will reach out to you if you are admitted about next steps to be eligible for the scholarship. And then there's a whole bunch of other more graduate based scholarships that we have at the University.
There's federal loans, and there's also alternative loans. I will say a good portion of our students usually have to take out an alternative loan, which usually results in needing a cosigner. Working with the bank to get the loan, so just putting it out there so that you're kind of prepared for it. I tell students apply to the program that you're most interested in, and then when you get your financial aid back, make the decision based on all of the factors 'cause you never know. We could get additional funding between now and February. We can get a new scholarship. They can, you know.

Thank you very much for this information! Are the potential global health opportunities generally during the weeks off for spring/summer break?
Variety of different things that can help, so don't let this be the only thing that prevents you from thinking of applying 'cause you never know. We have teen scholarships to give a little bit more money, but it is alone heavy program so it's something to kind of put in the back of your mind, OK?
And then outside scholarships and aid so you can apply to any outside scholarship you have it. We will take it. No work, no problems. There is one which I keep forgetting to add to the web to the PowerPoint is the hersel website. So if you go to HR essay, type it in here for you guys.

OK, just go on to that website and sign up for their newsletter. They have a scholarship called nurse core that you can apply to at any level of nursing.
Trust me, it's going to be very difficult to get the scholarship. They have thousands and thousands of applications for a few 100 scholarships, but it's a fully funded scholarship, meaning they will pay for the tuition and fees and also give you a living stipend while you finish your BSN and every year we have at least three to four students just within the BSN program that doesn't even include our Masters programs where we have another five or six students that receive the scholarship. There is a work commitment that you have to meet after you graduate. I think it's one year either in A.
Government facility or non for profit? I always forget 'cause there's a few other ones. Once you hit the MSN program in addition to the nurse core, there's also the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, which is for anyone going into midwifery or family. Doesn't matter where you, it doesn't matter what school you go. You completed these any anywhere and you'll get emails from us about the reminder to apply to them. But they also all pay for your Masters and then you owe them two years back in a designated site. So they give you a list of places you could work.

12:45:38 PM
Will Penn be working/helping more with options for financial issues for students who have lost jobs and income due to COVID?
You find a job, but you can only work in one of their designated spots. That's a great opportunity, especially if you kind of want to maybe move to the middle of nowhere in the US rural those are. That's where the majority are, but there's definitely spots in New York. There's definitely spots in the Carolinas. I've had students that have been in Hawaii to do some of these clinical of some of these work requirements, so just to know that that's another option. And it's a great one 'cause it covers a lot.
And deadlines December 1st.

Is it rolling admissions?
Let's see here. OK, so just some fun facts about Philadelphia, but I'm gonna hold open it up to Q&A. But before I do, I do want to mention. Please definitely also check out our admissions website. We are holding a whole bunch of other events that are coming up. Some of them are very specific to your specialty, so if your BSN, MSN for like midway for Women's Health, I think we have a web and are coming up in a few weeks with the faculty. We've had old webinars that we are not older like 2 weeks old or three weeks old. Previous recorded previously recorded webinars and if you go to our mission site you can see the link and you can.
You know, view one of them. So like if maybe you're deciding between like FNP and PNP. You can listen to the web and R and just get some more information about the different specialties in the different programs.
Alright, so I'm going to scroll all the way back up and of course my face will be like right in the camera as a kid. see I so let's see here.
Gonna go all the way back up.

Is there a plan in place yet for June 2021 with regards to remote vs in-person classes?
Yeah, so I'm not sure why the so. Yes, I know there's something going on with the portal you our deadline is October 15th. You have till October 15th to submit the information. There's a couple of specialties that we have that are rolling admissions. So like if you submit your application, we assume you want to know an answer soon so we kind of give you a deadline. So I'm not really sure why these deadlines are popping up on your portal, but they do not have to be received by September 25th. Our deadline is October 15th.
And I think it's you know it's fine and you can email me if you get any crazy emails from anyone. Just email me an I will. I'm working on trying to make sure that the accelerates don't get lumped into that, but it's kind of on the back end. So yes, so you're fine.
So you have till October 15th, system at those letters you have October 15 to submit all of your application materials and we do have a just a one week grace period. This is really important for anyone applying to the BSN, MSN track or the Hillman track. There's about a week less than a week that we can still attain and get information before we forward your application to the faculty. And once we forwarded to the faculty once they start reviewing.
Abigail Schubiger
12:48:04 PM
Is there any way to get a decision before early Feb?
If there early and they're going to review right away, it's going to be a lot harder to get your application in there for a review, so it's really important for BSN, MSN in Hillman students. You have everything in by the 15th. You can add to it, but just have the main core things in so that people can make a good review for BSN second degree students. I mean, you don't have the rest of the year, but if you need an extra week or so, it's not a big deal because I've read most of the admissions I read all of the applications along with a colleague of mine we share. So within the admissions office, we're constantly reading applications, so if a new one pops up

If we are applying to other schools, get in to a school and decide to start (since some schools start in January) BUT also get in to Penn in February, and decide we want to move to Penn is this a possibility?

Yes, so we I can definitely share the PowerPoint. You're going to get a recording. We're recording this right now, so you're going to link to it so you get to watch it again and see the PowerPoint as well and you'll have like the way it does. It is. It's got like a little dot when the power point changes, so you can literally just like click on the dot and I have to listen to the whole thing just to see the PowerPoint.

After getting the MSN - can we apply to the PhD program as well?
Are there scholarship opportunities for people who applied to the second? Yes, so we talked about some of those scholarship opportunities within pen and then of course there's outside scholarships as well. I've not taken into bio yet. Do I need to explain to my application my plan to take it in the spring? Yes, so there's a section of prerequisite courses. We just want to know that you know that you have to take this class. So just put in their biology and put you can put to be determined. If you're not sure of the college or University that you're going to attend and then also you can just include a future date completion of May 2021.
That way we know you're planning to take it in the spring.
Ah, so the cost of the prerequisite courses really depends on the school you go to. It could be you know.
Community College costs. It could be 4 year school private school tuition. It can be everything online program. Sometimes it can be a little cheaper, but sometimes are not as cheap as Community College. So you would have to do a little bit of research. Or really just depends. We don't do the prerequisite courses ourselves online so we don't have tuition or fees or anything for that.
We do accept Portage learning courses, so if a prerequisite course anatomy Physiology is listed on an official transcript as three credit hour lecture in one credit hour, how should be recorded? So like I mentioned, you want to record the lecture component of your course and then just click off. Yes for lab and then we will note the extra lab course.

12:50:43 PM
Do I have to redo my courses if the last time I completed them were in December 2013?
For prerequisite courses taken this semester, we able to send in those grades at the end of December. Yes, thank you. That's a great question I forgot to mention this. If you are currently registered for the fall for any of the prerequisite courses or you're a full time student as soon as you have final grades, please please send us an unofficial copy of your final of your final grades for the fall. So unofficials fine, we don't need official email it to our main admissions email box and also CC me directly on it. Is my contact information.
Oh wait, I'm going to my email here.

Filomena Circelli

Filomena@nursing.upenn.edu
Email it to me directly, because as I'm reading the applications, I have a section. I have a system where I can look them up to see if I need those final grades and then the admissions office email put that into your application for us. So please definitely email us. Updated grades for your fall semester, especially if you are completing anatomy and Physiology.
OK, let's see here. Do academic recommendations need to be from an undergraduate degree, or can they be from a graph? Oh no, they can be from a graduate degree that can be from your prerequisite courses. Definitely you know, especially if they know you really well and with the grad school program, sometimes it's a smaller programs. They really get to know you, so definitely graduate would worked perfectly.
Can we upload multiple transcripts if we took courses from multiple institutions? Yes, so you're going to list every single place you've completed a college course, even if it's just one like an art class.
Some random summer you're going to list, that's cool and you're going to upload an unofficial transcript for it. Yeah, so you want to make sure you list all of your college court all of the colleges you've ever attended. Even colleges that you took courses that don't.
Matter in terms of like prerequisite courses, we still need them, especially if you get transfer credit for it on your undergraduate transcript. 'cause then we're reading the transcript or like this transport something.

My application said the deadline was 8/21/20 so I had to complete everything on the 8/14/20. I don’t know if I was the only one
If they got credit from Camden County Community College, but they didn't list Camden County Community College, so now I have to email them and get the transcript. So definitely send us everything you have.
So if your unofficial transcript does not list the school name, I would reach out to the school and see if they can send you an unofficial.
An official transcript, or if they can give you some sort of page or system because we definitely need that listed on there to make sure it's the school that you say it is.
Lucretia Woods
12:52:49 PM
Can you expand more on why Nurse-Midwifery can not be done part-time?
Sometimes students have been asking officially been requesting official transcripts from the University, sent them to their home, and then they scan them to all of the different schools there applying too, which is something else that you can do.
Does it make sense to include extracurriculars and involvement the undergraduate level? If you're two years out of college? Yeah, I would. I definitely would. Two years isn't that long at a college.
I would definitely because the resume can be two or three pages, so you can just kind of include them towards the end. You know. Activities, clubs, organizations, especially if you had leadership roles in them. You definitely want to list them, so I would go for it.

I am currently working with NICU doctors in order to create a better umbilical catheter insertion device this semester for one of my engineering undergraduate degree courses. Although it is engineering based, would that be considered a healthcare experience for my application?
I have a bachelors in nursing and a Masters of Science in Gerontology and want to do my PhD. Which part do you recommend? Do you qualify for the home and actually you know, great question, you can apply directly to the PhD program. We're going to have a PhD information session at the end of October. I think we're going to like one is going to be like admissions information and overview with the program direct with the faculty director and then the other one is going to be like a student faculty panel one. So definitely check our website. Definitely attend, but you apply directly to the PhD.
So you're not going to pick Hellman because you're already a nurse and you already Masters degree, so you would apply to the PhD and the full funding works the same three years of full funding plus tuition and fees with the living stipend for the first three years in the 4th year's tuition and fees. Of course, all of this can change, right? There's always things that can kind of alter, but as of right now, that's how they think that it works, but you're eligible straight to go to your eligible to go straight to the PhD, so do not apply to the home in program.
I have a Masters degree, but the three nine. Yes, yes. I did forget to mention this. So thank you. If you have a graduate degree with at least a 3.2 BSN 3.2 GPA, you're automatically waived from the Jerry a grad degree waves you from the jury and it doesn't matter what your GPA is. Well yes it does. Yes, we have free too, but most crowd pleaser.
Abigail Schubiger
12:54:55 PM
On a transcript, my grade for A&P has the overall grade (lab and lecture) but you suggest putting the lecture grade in the application, even if it is different than the overall?
Alright, can the Jerry be wait for a BSN if your undergraduate GPA is above a 3.5? Yes, definitely an we do it on our end. So if you if if once you submit the application in your applying BSN MSN we're going to look to see it. Your GPA we're going to see above a 3 two and we're going to automatically waive the jury for you now if you're currently in undergrad you have to currently have a 3.2 GPA in order to have the jirari waived.
So we can still leave it.
Masters degrees Additionally waves the Jerry Correct. Yes, Masters degree waves the Jerry. So just to be sure, if we meet the GPA requirement, we don't need to submit the Jerries Course at all correct? If you have that 3.2 from your undergrad GPA from your undergrad degree, you do not need to take the Jerry, but make sure it's a 3.2. We don't round up. 3.19 requires the Jirari 3.20 does not. And yeah, so just something to think about does it? the Internet nursing course need to be developmental psychology course or include nutrition through the lifecycle?
If it includes, it would be nice if it includes nutrition through the life cycle. I think it's a nice component, but the Internet nutrition course needs to just be introduce nutrition.
But if there's a section on there where they can, you have the option of two and one's intro plus lifecycle. Go for it. If it's just nutrition through the lifecycle, don't take that class. OK, 'cause you're not going to get the basics of the basis of nutrition.
Metabolism and proteins and vitamins and all that stuff. It's going to be much more about like developmentally what we need as our body changes.
Uh, do you take graduate? Yes, we do take graduate GPA, you just have to have a graduate degree. I think that GPA requirement for the grad is a 3.2. It might be a 3.0, but yes, graduate graduate degree your waved from the Jerry.

If you still have the majority of your prerequisites to take, would it be more competitive to wait until the next application cycle to apply?
Are there any specialties that focus in neurology?
Great questions, so I think it would probably be.

What is the average number of applicants for the nurse-midwifery program/how many are admitted?
Erick Jason Reyno
12:56:54 PM
Will there be a webinar on Psych-Mental Health concentration soon?
It might be it. It'll depend, it'll depend on you know if you're going to be wanting to work with patients that are. It might be. If it's pediatric, maybe pieds acute care with a chronic concentration, 'cause it's a chronic issue.
I would probably be one that you would look into for neurology and neurology patients, and then I think for the same for adults it would be adult, gero acute care, and then you would work in the neurology Department or floor of a hospital.

If I took A&P and chem my sophomore year as an undergrad (4-5 years ago) but was sick that year with kidney infections and various other infections (strep, bronchitis, ear infections...and yes this was not my year for my immune system lol) but still passed (barely lol) but retook them this past year to review/get better grades/make sure I have the material mastered, will this look bad? Should I explain my reasoning for retaking these courses (i.e. I did not retake for failing but more so retook due to not being able to give it my all due to health reasons and wanting to master the material better)?
Possible I don't know, but it's also possible that you could be in primary care and work in neurology, but be working with stable patients that aren't in the neural world. So it's a combination of the chip.
Can you speak to global health opportunities within the BSN MSN program? Sure, so right now the study abroad options we have our short-term study abroad programs so their comparative healthcare systems course that you can take in the BSN or the MSN and you compare the health care system to the US in the countries we've been visiting. Have been Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Honduras or Guatemala. In Spain, those are the five short-term study abroad options you have. They fit into your schedule perfectly. You go abroad over the break and it doesn't interfere with your plans.
We also used to offer a semester summer abroad where you could go to do your community health clinical in Botswana and we had the Botswana trip for good 10 years and this past year it was it was moving to Trinidad Tobago.
Can't remember of course no ones going anywhere this year, but that that opportunity is actually clinical opportunity is the only one that allows clinical experience for students. Then we have pen global which is the University Department and they have short-term study abroad programs, and some of them work for accelerated students based on your schedule, right? Sometimes are over the month that you're off. Sometimes there during the spring break. Sometimes the variety of different options, so there's Penn Global and then our.
International global affairs office. Our global affairs office.
Well can work with you on an independent study if there's something you really want to do. If there's a country really want to visit, there's a place that you've always wanted to go. That's something that you can definitely look into.
Um, and you never know there's always new stuff coming up, so it's possible they'll be more.
Are there any opportunities at Penn for nursing after completing the programs?
Carina Ashkar
12:59:48 PM
Do you think by June 2021, the nursing program will still be entirely online, including clinicals?
Oh well, to work within the health system, yes, definitely. I mean a good portion of students who want to stay in Philadelphia and they will try to work at Penn within the Penn Health system. You know the nice thing about doing this program at Penn is the clinical sites that you go to. So currently and I keep saying this because I just feel like things are always changing, but currently our students do their pediatric rotation at Children's Hospital Philadelphia to the number to Children's Hospital in the country are Med surgeon general rotations or within the Penn Health system?
Grace Whalen
12:59:57 PM
Can you talk a little more about how many applicants you usually receive for the ABSN program and about how many people are accepted from that pool?
So usually the hospital University Pennsylvania, which is top 15 in the country or Presbyterian Medical Center, which is a few blocks from campus.
And you know those those experiences being in those health care systems, you get to know that your clinical instructor who usually works there, you'll get to know the nurse manager and you'll be able to kind of create a network. Also, our simulation lab and anyone that works in a simulation lab has a Masters degree or higher, but most of them are working in the health system or another hospital in Philadelphia, or another clinic or another. Private practice in Philadelphia. So you have all of these different entities that you can network with and really create relationships with.
To help you kind of set you up for future position.
Um, are the potential global health opportunities, yes. So I just mentioned that third, usually for the accelerated students there over the break time, because you really can't.
Not do it if it's not during the break time.
Grace Sells
01:01:25 PM
Are there any out-of-state clinicals in the Masters program?
Will Penn be working and helping more with options for financial issues for students who have lost jobs and income due to Kovid? Yes, so we were definitely doing as much as we can. I know that we've created an emergency fund for our current students. We've got donors that are giving money to help students who. Maybe they were in the program and doing everything's fine, but their partner lost their job or they need money for child care because now there's no school.
And they're doing on line learning while they're taking classes and trying to keep them enrolled in the program, so we definitely have an emergency fund that was created, and they're constantly raising for that. The universities done some additional things as well to help students.
Work Hun Stantly thinking of like what additional funding's out there? What else can we do? So I would say yes, it's always a focus. Will it pan out where we can have more funding? Not sure.
Um, what variations can we take for biology? Would I be able to take a human bio course? So great question, Ali. It depends. It really depends. Most human bio courses are more Physiology based or anatomy based, right? It's more about the systems and how they work and where they are. So I would have you email me or email admissions or me whatever you want to do just of course description for the human bio class you want take. There's been a few that I've seen that are more just kind of generic biology courses, but there's been a few that are just like you know we're doing the respiratory and.
Renal systems and reproductive system. And that's just more anatomy, and it's not really what they're looking for.
If I have a first professional degree in medicine from Ukraine, can it be considered as a first Bachelors Degree?
Yes yes. Well you have a degree higher than a bachelors degree, so you're definitely eligible for the accelerated program, especially if the evaluation comes up as doctorate degree or Masters degree.
Here, however, the equivalent equivalent is.
First Moran, if you're not sure you can send me a copy of it and we can look it over and just make sure. But yeah, we definitely had.
International physicians within our program. Not a lot, but we've definitely had them in the past and their wonderful.
Salma Nasser
01:03:09 PM
Do you all have housing resources specifically for the accelerated folks? -- seems rough to find housing for 18th month timeline
And is there a plan in place yet for June 2021 with regards to remote versus in person? No, not at all. Not at all, not yet.
Now now I mean, I think everything's on the table there constantly looking. Currently what we're currently doing is all lectures are online. Most simulation lab class courses or classes or.
Salma Nasser
01:03:36 PM
also - is there any sort of meet and greet with current students or recent grads?
Are in person. There are a few that are also in line because you don't technically have to be there, right? Maybe therapeutic communications or something like that within the psych world can be done online just to keep think people safe and less kind of congregation. We bought PS for all of our students so that they are protected and we don't have to worry. Our partner clinical partners with that.
Christina Kane
01:04:08 PM
Would Basic Concepts and Biodiversity count towards the Intro to Biology prerequisite?
But I'm not in the clinical is currently most of the clinicals are live. There are a few exceptions here and there based on where we hold clinicals in full our students to get there to go there so it's constantly moving. It's constantly changing so I could never ever say if it's going to be online. If we're going to be on campus, what it's going to look like? So we will keep you posted, I promise. I think we probably won't know till maybe March or April to see what's happening in the United States in the world in terms of controlling.
If we are applying to other schools, get into a school and decide to start. Since, um school starting January, yes, but also get independent February and we want to change and move to pen. Yes, that is a possibility. It's crazy, but every year we probably have one student who officially started a program in January and realized that the pen was a better fit for them for whatever reason. And, you know, you can but you we only we can't give you credit for a lot. So if you end up taking that all of those classes
We might be lucky enough to give you, you know, credit for maybe pepper, fessor pharmacology or something like that, but you probably will have to do some. Still have to do some of those clinicals it depends on the school. Every school is a little bit different.
Innocent Onwubiko
01:05:25 PM
Does the oct 15 deadline applies to phd program
Yeah, so great question. The financial aid deadline is December 1st, so we do you do apply for financial aid before you know you've been accepted an I know it's kind of confusing, but the reason for that is we try to process the financial aid paperwork once we know we want to admit you and if we wait till after you're notified it can take weeks to get everything it will take you a week or two to get the paperwork to us. Takes us a week or two to process it and it just delays everything.
We are and when I say need blind, I mean like we don't. I don't see your financial aid paperwork. It gets sent to financial, the financial aid office. I don't see anything. I don't see paper. I don't see taxes or fast buzz or anything like that. Admissions committees have no idea what it looks like, but we do ask for it just so that we can speed up the process. Once committed decisions are made, we can try to move. Move ahead. Sometimes students wait. If you wait, you just you're going to wait to get the.
Oleg Gordiienko
01:06:14 PM
Should I include a list of recent publications in my resume, or it is better to send it on demand
Financial aid package. A little longer than everybody else.
Um, what is the average loan debt students graduate with? That's a great question.
I feel like I should know that, but I don't. I can probably find out if you want to send me that email, I would probably say.
60 to 70 for the BSN portion, but please don't quote me on that. I'm not positive I will ask financial aid to see if they have that information and we can look at it so feel free to email me that question.
Sharnell Brown
01:07:08 PM
Based on your app review experience: are there any tips for the video more so, in regards to standing out?
Yes, so recommenders must submit their letters by October 15th. Yes, I know there's a few emails out there saying like, oh, because if you submitted your application like yesterday, and our admissions office is like, oh, look, everything looks good, but you're missing this. One thing. You'll get an email and it's kind of automated, and it just kind of says, hey within a week get it to us but you have till October 15th. We're not going to like penalize your application at all, OK?
Um, are you Excel exams acceptable for credit just to supplemental O EP. Prerequisite grade.
We definitely take you Excel. We've taken them in the past. The ones we've accepted have been statistics, nutrition, biology, and microbiology. Those are the main ones and the reason we usually accept them is because students either took a nutrition course, but it's in cover everything or they took.
Hannah Whitlock
01:07:46 PM
Is the ABSN program around $125,000 in tuition?
Micro course, but it's like 20 years old and they worked in the field and now they want to take the class they don't want to retake the class so we've never taken it for anatomy and Physiology, so why don't you send me an email, will discuss it and we'll see if it makes sense for you to do that.
Would it be beneficial to take the jury if you're able to get a waiver? No, not for pen. If you're taking the juries because you're applying to other programs and you're like you know what I have to take it anyways, I'm going to submit it to pen 'cause I did. Well go for it. We will look at it, but don't take it just for Penn.
Especially if your GPA solid right. Sometimes the Jerry is helpful if your GPA is really on the lower end and you kind of want to showcase your academic ability. It's just another tool to do it. It's not the only tool that you have, it's just another tool.
Um after getting an MSN can, we apply to the PhD program as well. Definitely this is something you will learn when you get to bed is that you can say a pen forever and just keep learning and do postdocs and stay and teach an you know, we're constantly encouraging our students to get involved to go for additional degrees. Whatever your goals are whatever you want to do you're going to have the support that you need to do it. So yes, you can finish your MSN and then apply our PhD program for sure.
Do I have to redo my courses if the last time I completed them were in December 2013.
So hard, I would say you don't have to redo statistics, chemistry, biology, nutrition, but I need we probably need to have a conversation about anatomy and Physiology in micro, like when did you take everything in 2013 or was like Amp 2011 because we have to talk about that. So feel free to email me. This is for Siobhan. Feel free to email me and we'll talk about it. Kind of go over it. See what makes sense. You can upload unofficial copy of your transcript so I can see all the classes you took. It also depends on your major.
Uh we'll have to kind of look at everything for in terms of Anatomy and Physiology.
K my my application said the deadline was eight 2120 so I had to complete everything on the 814 twenty. I don't know if I was the only one.
I'm not sure Nelly let me know text if you can note what specialty you, what program you applied too, because I'm not positive.
It depends on the program. Are accelerated program, no matter what program, which option you choose? Second degree BSN, MSN, PhD does matter. The deadline is October 15th.
If you submit the application today, it's possible in a week. You'll get this email that says, Hey, we process your application. You're still missing this. Please get it to us and it gives you like a date within a week. But the deadline is October 15th. You have till October 15th for the accelerated programs. If you were applying to a different program, we'd have to double check the actual deadline for that program. OK, and feel free to email me directly if you're concerned and all will follow up for you. I'll find out exactly if it's really the 21st or not.
Alright, next question is can you expand more on my nurse midwifery cannot be done part time so midwifery can be started part time. The midwifery program includes the Women's Health nurse practitioner certification. I think the difficulty is in the last six months of the midwifery program and that's because you are catching babies and they come when they come. And it's really, really hard to kind of have a schedule with that. And I think that's really why they prefer that your full time.
So we've had since you started part time. Maybe they do a year worth of the non clinical courses and then the second year and a half is, you know the clinical courses with maybe some part time work. It just really depends on where you're working, but the last six months of the midwifery program are really difficult to hold down a full time position.
I'm currently working with Nick View doctors in order to create a better biblical cord catheter insertion device. This semester. Wow, for one of my engineering undergraduate degree courses. Although it is engineering based, would that be considered a health care experience? Yes, definitely, definitely. That's the beauty of Healthcare. The beauty of Healthcare is it touches everything, right? I mean this is, you know technology working to improve healthcare outcomes. So yes please please include that in there also. I've had students who were.
Nelly Sekyere
01:12:37 PM
I applied to the bsn/msn program. The deadline was in the main application and it indicated that I have to complete everything by that time
Worked at the food bank for two years and because they worked at the food bank, it brought them to nursing and brought them to health care and health promotion and education and Prevention because they saw all community members who had chronic health issues and didn't have access to healthy foods. There's so many different things that can kind of bring you to nursing and expose you too.
What it means to have quality health care? What it means to be in the healthcare field? What it means not to have health care?
It's really your story, so definitely please really think outside the box. Think of everything you've done, showcase it, tell us about it. We're not just looking for like you know I'm an EMT, which we love. EMTs, paramedics.
Phlebotomists all of you CNA's but you know sometimes it's I Maclin I work in research and clinical research and this is what I'm doing and there's so many different things that can touch healthcare in your experience in your exposure and your knowledge you know please share it with us. Don't feel like you can include it if you're if you're not sure, just include it because the more the better because you can. Sometimes what will happen is the student will talk about it and then the recommender talks about it. And I'm like I don't remember them saying that they had this experience and I'm looking at the resume I'm looking at.
I say and it's not there, so you definitely want to make sure you address those experiences that you have. 'cause all of them are going to be positive in some way.
If you still have a majority of the prerequisites to take, would it be more competitive to wait until the next application cycle to apply Sophia? That is a great question, and it's very, very specific to each person. So one thing that we look at is we look at what's your undergraduate degree? Fewer, a bio major no, go ahead and apply. You have enough science courses for us to evaluate. If you were an English major that never complaints course and you're completing all of your pre Recs in the spring, you might want to wait if you are non science major annuar completing about half of 'em this fall in about half next spring.
You can apply because you can get a still final grades before we go to Admissions Committee. So it really depends on your situation and everybody is slightly different. Also depends on your experience, your work history, all of that. So feel free to email me some more information and then we can kind of decide. I just had this conversation with the student yesterday. A perspective student and just kind of talking through everything you know they realized it made sense to wait, but we also came up with suggestions of how to make it better. If you do apply this year, like what else would you do so we can talk about it?
What is the average number of applicants for the nurse midwifery program and how many are admitted? Oh, that's a great question. First, it changes every year. What I can tell you just this kind of just like big picture because it can change every year. I would say nurse midwifery.
Madison Campana
01:15:13 PM
Do you guys consider working in a mental health practicum as exposure to health care? Or research experience in the psychology/metal health area?
Family is our most popular program, meaning it has the most number of applicants from the BSN, MSN track families. Second, it has been one and two for the last 15 years. They are the most popular programs for a variety of different reasons. I will say I think nurse midwifery is one of our most competitive programs because not in and not just because the numbers but also because of what the faculty are looking for. Exposure to Healthcare.
Using exposure to midwifery, understanding of the nurse midwifery role. Have you seen a birth? Why do you want to be a midwife? What is your goal? Does it make sense to be a midwife based on your goals? 'cause sometimes don't apply to midwifery because they're like, Oh, it's just an extra semester and all can be a midwife, but they really want Women's Health, their experiences, Women's Health, and they're just kind of adding on midwifery and they can be at a disadvantage if they apply.
It's one of the most competitive, so I'd say we usually get around. I don't know 60 to 70 apps. Sometimes it's higher, sometimes lower than we admit, like 30% of the pool. Sometimes it's a little. Midwifery could be a little bit lower just because it's so competitive in terms of what the faculty are looking for. It's not necessarily about clinical numbers, if that makes sense. It's more about is this applicant competitive and do we want them to come into the nurse midwifery program? I would find that.
Is a little bit more within the midwifery group versus family or family. It's like, OK, we've got, you know. 90 applications for family and we're only you know if we only take 30% of that, that's hard. That becomes a numbers thing of like who's the most competitive.
But where midwifery we might be able to take a couple more, but they're just not as competitive or look, they're not what the faculty is looking for. I hope that answers that question.

Um, well, there will be a web and R in psych mental health, so I think they did the psych mental health concentration already. So if you go to are going to put it here, if you go to nursing.upenn.edu and click on the admissions section of the website and on the right hand side scroll all the way down to admissions events, you'll see all the admissions events that are coming up, but at the very top in the text there's a link to previously recorded webinars and I think the psych one is one of them.
OK, if not it's coming up in the next like 3 weeks.
Shoshana Rosenthal
01:17:32 PM
The application asks about incompletes? Is that just referring to classes that were never completed or does that also include a class that was withdrawn from much earlier in the semester, but the school still put it on the transcript with a W?
Sarah Geissler
01:17:37 PM
What is the typical number of BSN-MSN Neonatal Nurse Practitioner applicants/how many are admitted?
Ah, let's see here. If you took amp and Cam sophomore year.

Here's the Psych NP webinar link for Sept 28: https://www.nursing.upenn.edu/calendar/view/event/event_id/3402/view/event
Um, but was sick that year with a kidney infection. Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness, that's crazy, but still passed barely. But we took him this past year to review, get better grades. No, it will not look bad. Not at all, but I will say this when you do the application. I don't know if you submit your application or not. If you are retaking a class you can totally retake a class. We look at both of them and we took the highest.
And the most reset. So hopefully the highest is the most recent. So you want to make sure you don't put your old grades on the application, but the courses that you've recently completed or planned to complete, because that way when I'm reviewing or were reviewing applications, when we see like a lower amp grade when we look at the pre reckless were like Oh well, they're retaking amp this fall. I mean, we're going to get an updated grade soon, so that's what you want to make sure. If you don't tell me you're taking the class, we don't know you're taking the class and we won't look for that extra class or that extra grade or that new grade.
So just something to think about in the back of your mind. This is for all the courses fury taking Cam. If you were taking bio, tell us the new course that you the most recent course you retook. If you already took it or the course you plan to take or that you are planning to take it again so that we know when we're reviewing the application an I would explain your reason.
I would explain it in the addendum, so there's an addendum section of the application and this is really for anyone who just wants to explain something briefly. Maybe it's a really low semester, like in your situation, right? The GPA pie doesn't reflect the rest of your transcript.
Claire Walter
01:19:24 PM
If we mention a clinical experience in our essays, but it was some time ago, would you recommend going out of our way to get a letter from a supervisor/professor from that experience?
Make it brief, just like you did hear this information is enough. Make it brief and talk about like this semester doesn't represent my academic ability. It was a difficult semester. I had a healthcare struggles that I was going through and retaking the classes I've done so much better. And you can also talk about how your progression in your grades as well. Sometimes students want to address if they withdrew from a semester of courses or they they took a leave of absence. Those are things you want to tell us about. You don't have to go into crazy detail.
You just have to acknowledge and address it and kind of say how you're better for it. You do not have to give us crazy details of what's going on.
Sometimes less is better, so whatever you want to share, you can share but don't feel like you have to tell us everything. It can just be like I took a leave of absence for a year. I had a sick family relative. I spent my year doing this and that's it.
Alright, are there any out of State Clinicals in the Masters program? Actually some states yeah for sure. So when you say out of state if you mean like we're going to find a clinical sites.
In California and do your lectures on line like a remote program? Not yet. We're not there yet.
Sharnell Brown
01:20:45 PM
I was volunteering in a respiratory unit with child life specialists since early 2019-2020 until we were not able to continue due to covid. I was unable to finish my 120+ hrs, where can I explain this? Is UPenn more understanding to these types of situations.
Might speed that up. 'cause now we know we can do it, but no, not yet. And also there's a lot of rules with the Department of Education in each of the states in terms of who you can educate. How many you can educate where you can educate them so it becomes very bureaucratic so some states we can't even like. We have some post Masters certificate programs that we can't do in certain states because we can't educate in that state due to the Department of Education requirements. So what I will say is that depending on the specialty you choose at the Masters level because of where we are in the Northeast.
We're really close to New York and DC and Baltimore, New Jersey, Delaware. So we do have students who will live in those states, maybe come to campus once or twice a week for lectures, and we find your clinical sites in those states. As long as we're allowed to. For those states, not all programs, most programs, so I think it just depends on the specialty that you're choosing. But if you're kind of like just staying local but you're living in North Jersey and you'd rather do your clinicals in North Jersey instead of having it moved, drive to Philly everyday and only come to Philly once a week.
For lectures, that's a possibility, but you know, living in Iowa while you're doing the Masters were not there yet. Doesn't mean we can't be, but we're not.
Do you have housing resources specifically for the accelerated folks? Seems rough to find housing for 18 months and like yeah, so it can be a little bit more difficult. We do allow our students to live on campus if they want to, but most of our students do live off campus and students will do a variety of different things. They might sign a one year lease and then for the last six months they look for a sublet.
From July to December, and you know, with all the colleges on in the area, it's usually doable or they sign longer lease because they're going to stay in the area. Take the end claques, give him give themselves time to time to find a job.
And then we'll move to wherever they're moving. But we have a wonderful off campus housing on campus housing offices and they will walk you through it. They'll give you great resources. We also have a wonderful current students. I can kind of explain how they found their their housing and what they did and things like that.
All Deerwood basic concepts in biodiversity count towards the intro to bio pre req. I would say yes if that's the name of the course, basic concepts and biodiversity at probably feel free to email me if you want me to. Just confirm for sure, just send me the course description but I.
Not see why it won't work.
Uh, so the deadline for the PhD program is Gosh, don't quote me December 1st or January 1st and one of these December 1st, but it could be January 1st but it is not October 15th so you have a lot more time for the PhD application because we're going to have two more PhD info sessions coming up.
Should I include a list of recent publications in my resume or is it better to send it on demand? I would you don't have to send us the actual.
Written work that you've done but definitely note your publications on your resume, right published for this Journal. On this date you know the whole citing cited cited for us, 'cause Penn Loves Research, so it's definitely a huge positive for your application.
Based on your app review experience, are there any tips for the video more so in regards to standing out? Oh, that's a great question.
The first thing I want to say is the video. Honestly, it's not going to hurt. You were not going to be like oh, that was weird video. We're not. We're not doing that. We're really here to listen to what you're saying.
I when I mentioned not to read a prepared statement, I think that can make it a little bit. You don't stand out as much so the whole purpose of it kind of gets lost in the in the admissions review when we're reviewing it. So definitely try not to read a prepared statement. Do not read your personal statement verbatim in the video either. That would be the two things I think that can hurt the applicant a little bit. Or if the interviews like a minute and a half.
It's just, it's just not great because we've got students who are putting so much effort into it. So that aside.
You know those are the two things that I found that can kind of. Just like you know.

Is there an interview required before admissions?
They'd interview will never be a reason for us not to accept you if everything else is really strong and solid, but you know a really solid interview can really just make us go OK. We're moving. We're moving with admit for this applicant. So those things aside, which I think can hurt honestly, make sure the lighting is a little bit good. I don't expect I don't want it to be a YouTube video with rings and all of that crazy stuff, but you want to just make sure it's a little bit right. Little things like, you know, I know we all live in different areas and we can't control it.
But you know, like outside, noise can sometimes be distracting, so that's kind of just like the quality of the video. And then the other piece is just be yourself. The ones that really stand out are the ones that just kind of a conversation where they're just like this is what I want to do when I become a nurse. This is my goal. This is how I want to impact my community when I get to pen. These are the things I'm really excited about and this is how I'm going to get involved. It's really just being able to come have a conversation. The other thing is if you were applying to the BSN, MSN track or the Hillman.
You wanna spend a good portion of your interview really talking about that specialty? Because the faculty really look at the video interview. They like. Love it. So you want to kind of showcase your knowledge or understanding of the role. You know why? Why being an FNP is a good fit for you based on your goals in your careers, that you understand what an FNP does? That's really what they're looking for in a lot of these cases. So I think just being yourself.
No, I know it's awkward, like I said.
I'm a fidgety person, so I know you guys are by getting dizzy. For me, moving every 5 seconds but just being yourself and just kind of answering those questions is what we're looking for.

I really enjoy listening to nursing podcasts (nursing.com app for anyone who is interested) or videos on youtube (RegisteredNurseRN) to start learning various skills or information important as a future nurse in my spare time (in the gym or before going to bed). Is this something we could list on a resume? I never thought to list what I do in my spare time but seems like you guys enjoy unique resumes based on this info session
So I hope that answered. It was very long winded up. Is the a BSN program around 100 and 25,000 tuition? Yes, so the tuition for the bachelors component. The RN component is currently 100 and 25,000 for the tuition guess and that's why I mentioned it is definitely alone heavy program.
I applied to the BSN MSN the deadline was in the main application indicated that I have to complete everything. By that time. Yes, yes, October 15th is the main deadline for BSN MSN so you're fine.
Do you guys consider working in a mental health practicum? Is exposure to healthcare or research experience in this segmental health area both actually both? For sure. Yeah, I mean some of I've had students who were doing clinical research.

01:27:23 PM
What is the total tuition for the ABSN/MSN program?
Or mental health research.
You know with uh, in a practice versus someone who was working as a behavioral health technician or a living resident at different facilities. So both of them are considered healthcare like healthcare, exposure, healthcare experience can really run the gamut for us. So just remember that.
What is the typical number of BSN MSN, neonatal nurse practitioner? How many are admitted?
So Neil needles not as popular, so there's not that many. I would probably say around 10:00 or so, and applicants and then we probably admit between 30 and 35% of that pool. Sometimes it can be a little higher if of the 10 like 6 or really really strong compared to the rest of the SMS sample. Will admit them because neonatal you have to work for two years we don't have a minimum number of applicants we can admit, right? Because you're not starting neonatal for like for years so.
It's easy to just map you out and put you in the future cohort. It's really about how competitive you are as an overall applicants. So the number we admit can change from year to year.
Oh, thank you Adam, there's the psych NP web and R. Oh it's coming up. It's on September 28th, which is next week.
Awesome, perfect. I think it's Monday.
If we mentioned a clinical experience in RSA, but it was some time ago, would you recommend going out or way to get a letter from her supervisor professor from that experience?
Um, I think if you think it's going to add to your application because it was such a great experience, even if it was awhile ago for sure it could be your third recommender.
If you're doing it 'cause you kind of want to say, I really did this, I don't think you need that will take your word for it, so I think it depends what you hope the recommender is going to add to your application. If it's just so that you can say you want to, you know you kind of want to show that I really did this.
You don't need to, but if you really think that they would, they know you so well. 'cause you spend a lot of time with them and they can write a great recommendation. I would go for it.
And let's see here I was volunteering in a respiratory unit with child life specialists. Wow.

01:29:44 PM
(SAME QUESTION AS SARAH, BUT FOR PSYCH NP HEHE) What is the typical number of BSN-MSN Psych-MentalHealth Nurse Practitioner applicants/how many are admitted?
Yes, so so. Let's say like in this situation she was working, volunteering in the respiratory unit. She was supposed to 120 hours, but then covert hidden. She wasn't allowed to go back or he wasn't allowed to go back, are they?
Erick Jason Reyno
01:30:05 PM
Thanks Adam - I registered for it already!
And the what I would say is that we completely understand that. And you can just put it on the resume if you want, you can say volunteered, scheduled to complete 120 hours due to Covid completed 65. It's perfectly fine. You can just put it on the resume if you want. You can talk about it in your personal statement, but you don't have to address unless it makes sense. You know that you didn't finish the full hours or all of that. It's perfectly fine.
I really enjoyed listening to nursing podcasts. Oh, this is some. OK perfect thank you. So Madison has some things that she.
Ann is recommending for people to use as a resource, so she wrote. I really enjoyed listening to nursingpodcastnursing.com app for anyone who's interested or videos on YouTube registered nurse RN to Start learning various skills or information important as a future nurse in my spare time. Is this something we could list on a resume? I never thought to list what I do in my spare time, but seems like you guys enjoy unique resumes based on the section info. Yes, definitely feel free. You can say avid avid podcast listener to nursing dot app.

Typically how many students are admitted into the Primary Care Pediatric program?
You know you could put in dates that you've been or shows or how many you've listened to or anything like that. For sure, you can kind of talk about it in your personal statement like this is a passion of mine. I do everything I can to learn as much about it, yeah?
Um, what is the typical number of those for psych so psych actually has moved up in popularity, so I'd say over the last five years it's become the third most popular program for BSN, MSN students, and Psych is a little bit similar to nurse midwifery in the sense that they do want you to have some exposure and never really strong understanding of a psych NP roll. Video interviews important to them. They spend a lot of time watching the in video interview with either side by pro.
And your personal statement and all of that so we don't have a number. Again, you know it's really based on for the majority of our programs, it's really based on. Like how are you a good fit for the program? Are you competitive for the program in terms of who we admit so?
I think last year we had maybe around 60 apps for Psych and we probably admitted about 30 to 35% of that pool.

But I love our nurses. An future nurse practitioners and everyone that's in the healthcare field. You make such a difference, and we're so happy you're considering pen. It's a really wonderful place to be and didn't talk a lot about it. But Philadelphia is just as dynamic as pen and it kind of adds to the experience when you're here and being in an urban environment and Metropolitan area. Kind of.
